In 2009, our founder Michael Chen was managing his third major construction project — a commercial renovation in downtown Toronto. Despite being an experienced contractor himself, the project was plagued with the same issues he'd seen countless times: miscommunication between trades, quality inconsistencies, timeline delays, and finger-pointing when things went wrong.

The problem was clear: The traditional general contractor model had a fundamental flaw. Contractors were incentivized to maximize their own profit, not to advocate for the client. There was no unified accountability, no standardized quality control, and no one truly representing the client's best interests.

Michael envisioned a different approach — what if there was an organization that worked for the client, not for profit? What if contractors were united under rigorous standards, with field agents ensuring quality at every step? What if one entity took complete responsibility for project success?

That vision became CanaCore. We started small — just five carefully selected contractor partners and a commitment to do things differently. Today, we're 377+ partners strong, having completed over 2,000 projects with a 98% client satisfaction rate.

We didn't create CanaCore to be another construction company. We created it to fix a broken industry, one project at a time.
